Day 16 - Praying for Our Nation

Today's Focus: Ethics
October 16, 2012

Suggested Scriptural References:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
 ~Psalm 1:1-3

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. ~Psalm 25:21

The suggested prayers below are a guideline to follow.

Suggested Prayers:

We ask for a rebirth of an understanding between right and wrong. Lead us, O God, in Your ways of thinking, saying and doing the right thing.

We ask that ethics, honor, integrity, morality, goodness, wholesomeness, fidelity, character, respect and manners gain prominence as virtues in our land.

As the author of right and wrong, we ask You to rekindle in us a clear sense of moral truth in America.

We ask that You foil all efforts to re-define ethics apart from You and Your truth.

We ask for the widespread teaching of ethics in our homes and educational institutions...not for the purpose of staying out of trouble, but for the ethical value of doing the right thing by You.

We ask for leaders of impeccable ethical character and conduct.

In the Name of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray.

Amen and amen!
